国境悲話：七歳児童がATMで感電死

タイ・カンボジア国境にある某銀行のATMコーナーにて、7歳の子供が漏電していたATMに触れて死んだそうな。私も過去2度、プノンペンの電柱に触れた瞬間に一回、汗ばんだ手で変圧器に触れて一回、220ボルトの直撃を受けたことがある。

何かに例えるなら、体重70キロくらいのおっさんから渾身の飛び蹴りを喰らったみたいな衝撃。そのまま吹っ飛んだから良かったものの、何らかの理由で電気流れっぱなしの、旋風脚300連発状態に陥ったら死んじゃうんだろうなと思う。運が良かったってことで、これからのじめじめした季節、皆さんもご注意を。

The Cambodian boy sat beside the Automatic Teller Machine and died of electrocution due to “leakage” caused by improper installation.
SAKAEW – April 23, 2012 [PDN]; Pol. Lt. Col. Phraisilp Kaewseekhao, Klong Leuk police station, Sakaew province was notified by Pol. Col. Subin Boonlek, Superintendent, Klong Leuk police station of a “leaking” ATM machine at the popular border market.

At the accident scene the police found the body of a Cambodian boy age 7 beside the ATM machine. The boy had died on the spot due a massive electric shock.
Upon investigation, the electric officer said that this happened because of improper installation of the earthing equipment and electricity lines.
The tragic death of the Cambodian boy could have been prevented.
